Spiral Wound Gaskets
Extremely resilient spring - action construction proves highly efficient in a variety of uses involving vibration and unusual stresses and temperatures.
Typical applications: boiler tube caps, standard or special flanges, valve bonnets, manholes and handholes.
#511 SPIRAL-WOUND RINGS
These are in wide use among equipment manufacturers who are employing metal-to-metal joints in an increasing list of applications. They also may be used for standard tongue and groove and male-female joints at all pressures as well as for valve bonnets, ammonia fittings and other closures which demand a highly resilient gasket. They find particular application where space and weight are critical factors in overall design problems, i.e., missile and aircraft units. Standard gasket thickness is 3/16" nominal; 1/8" and 1/4" thicknesses are available for special uses.
#513 SPIRAL-WOUND RINGS WITH OD CG
Built for long service life on standard piping and many other closures. Withstand wide fluctuations in temperature and pressure. Usually supplied with solid metal centering and compression ring surrounding outer edge only. Gasket thickness is 3/16" nominal. Solid compression limiting rings are nominal 1/8" thick.
#515 SPIRAL-WOUND RING WITH OD AND ID CGI
Available with solid metal centering and compression rings surrounding inner as well as outer edge. The inner ring fills space between flanges and acts to reduce erosion of flange facings and minimizes turbulence. Gasket thickness is 3/16" nominal. Solid compression limiting rings are nominal 1/8" thick. They are designed to prevent damage from careless insertion or over-bolting.
